(More) Changing Approaches to Project Management
“Changing approaches” means much more today than it did six years ago, and the 2024 questionnaire reflects that shift
Our 2024 research study is now live! Head over to The Adaptive Organization: A Benchmark of Changing Approaches to Project Management 2024 to contribute your viewpoints. This year’s study revisits our 2018 survey of how organizations are implementing agile and adaptive practices in project management—always a great way to see the trends in project management over time. We’ll be particularly interested to see how the value added by agile or hybrid strategies may have changed.
But we also realized that “changing approaches” means much more today than it did six years ago, and the 2024 questionnaire reflects that shift.
First of all, something we had been talking about and trying out for quite a while (see this early PMI paper that cites our “Remote Project Controls” program!) has exploded onto the scene. Project Management as a Service (PMaaS) became critical to business with the pandemic and has only grown in popularity since then. In 2021, we asked organizations what role PMaaS played in their ability to meet goals during the pandemic. Now, we are circling back to check on that trend.
And of course, no research survey in 2024 would be complete without asking about the role of AI in project management and organizations. Taking our cue from PMI’s excellent AI Impact information, we’ve designed a brief scan of organizations’ AI usage and practices.
Your experiences and opinions matter! Please participate in the study: it’s confidential and those who complete it receive a full-data copy of the research report as a thank you. Once again, here’s the link.
